As with any good production work, a successful wedding event is only as good as its cast, a.k.a the wedding entourage. We are very delighted that the members of our supporting cast have given us the honor of participating in our wedding. Our family and friends mean the world to us, so it is only fitting that our cast include a little of both. Click on the desired name to read our individual commentary.
"One of my best and, definitely, oldest friends is my Maid of Honor, Adeline. I was the new kid in 2nd grade, and she was assigned to be my guide. We've been friends ever since! Despite the distance that separated us over the years when our families moved to different cities, we kept in touch through letters. Now we talk and laugh and share stories over the phone after not talking for weeks at a time as if no time had passed. Almost 20 years after we met, I look to her to be my guide again, to share in my excitement and joy and walk me through the most important day of my life..." - Ninette "I've known my best man, Wilfredo, for almost 9 years now. We both entered college at UC San Diego in 1990 and took a math class together. At first, he thought I was some hot-shot DJ with a jacked-up haircut and BBD t-shirt who only came to class to copy his homework! Needless to say, that impression didn't last long, and we've been homies since those days. We've been through some trying times together, including times when all we did was listen to cheesy slow jams wondering if we'd ever find that special someone (sorry, bro', I had to include it.). Well, a few years passed, I re-met Ninette, and the three of us now hang out routinely. It means a great deal to me that he is also close with my wife-to-be. Anyway, I'm proud to say that the same guy whose homework I used to copy will be there for me once again..." - Arnel
"I 'adopted' Marianne and Melanie as my little sisters because I have no sisters of my own. They were there when Arnel and I began our romance--and just as our relationship has grown, so have they. I enjoy being their Ate Ninette! Watching them mature and become more and more beautiful over the years is a wonder that any big sister would be proud of just as I am... It goes without saying that I wanted my future sister-in-law, Jeanne, to be a part of our wedding. I'm proud of her accomplishments in and around her college community--she dedicates her heart and soul to various organized events and manages to balance this with school, work, and a social life. I admire her energy and her passion for what she believes in." - Ninette
"What can I say? My only brother, Jason, just has to be with me at our wedding. When he was born in Subic some 14 years ago, I didn't realize what an impact he would have on my life. Having a brother who I could help raise and proudly acknowledge has helped me become a better student, son, and most importantly, a big brother. Sonny has given me the inspiration to inspire, the motivation to motivate, and a future of endless dreams. He also happens to keep the kid in me alive by teaching me the latest slang and Playstation moves only teenagers these days would know (ain't that right, Tical?). So, as his Kuya, I hope he will continue to count on me when he needs someone (yes, that includes complaining!)...and ease up on the H20 trivia! Rex is one of my closest homies from college. I've known this guy for more than 8 years, and he still manages to keep the same haircut! He's got a knack for that 'Cliff from Cheers' type trivia, which never ceases to amaze me. And like Wil and myself, he's an avid sports guy and listens to Jim Rome religiously. I'd say his number one quality is his work ethic. I worked with him for 2-1/2 years, and he always gave 100% to his projects (remember Abel 11, Rex?). You could always count on him being on time - no Filipino time for him! Well, our wedding wouldn't be complete without his presence, and I'm glad he's not moving to Seattle - at least not in the next couple of months! And what's a team of groomsmen without my future bro', Ronnie! I can still remember when he and I were in Hawaii 16 years ago. I used to always watch him and his friends play soccer during recess, wondering if those eighth graders would ever let me play! I always admired his passion for music. You definitely have to see my boy on the drums! We like to share our thoughts on music and movies (wicked, huh Ronnie?). And the guy is never without a joke or some other amusing sound coming out of his body. Y'know!! Well, I have to say having Ronnie as one of my groomsmen will definitely make for an interesting experience - both at the wedding and the bachelor party!" - Arnel
